[ 03 / the survival book : animal migration ]
problem /
The objective of this project was to create a 96+ page bound book based on the broad topic of survival. The book required the use of our own photography and illustrated informational graphics based on our chosen topic.
solution /
When most think of defining survival they consider food and reproduction as two important factors, but for most, accomplishing those two factors requires massive movements. My chosen book topic was migration as survival, a movement of masses. This book directly interprets, through typography, layout, photography and informational graphics, precisely how this idea of migration looks visually. Extreme paragraph shifts, rule lines intersecting and overlapping sentences and photographs are all elements that were used to visually display a general concept of migration and movement throughout the book.
